Title: What is a ROM?
Post by: Brandon on September 13, 2008, 09:13:08 am
A ROM is a platform game, decoded into a file that you are able to run with an Emulator. Be aware that you can only play ROMS with the appropriate platforms.

i.e. If you download a Atari Emulator, then you can only run Atari ROMS on it.

You forgot to mention to be carefull when downloading roms from a website because sometimes they contain malware (virus)... Most of the pages with roms for free arent trust-worthy and it needs a good precaution on what you do because people just want to be... well you know what i mean. They want to see your personal files and information...

PS: If anyone needs a good link ask me ill search for one that doesnt contain stuff like that (hopefully). Im just telling this because i recently tried to download roms for nintendo 64 emulator on 5 different websites and all off them contained viruses just to warn you guys. Like i mentioned before, questions/need help on something? pm me and ill try to help.
